I grew up on a small, mixed farm in North Battleford Saskatchewan where I raised registered polled Herford cattle and grew several different varieties of grain. My family worked hard, but took time to enjoy all kinds of activities like golf, hockey, curling, camping and the 4-H beef club. In 1984 I moved to Rosthern Saskatchewan, where I met my wife Mary Lou and began our pedigreed seed business. I was very involved in my community in different aspects such as the Mennonite church co-ordinator for the Food Grains Bank, organizing the Meals on Wheels program, chair of the Chamber of Commerce and a board member of the Youth Farm Bible Camp. Mary Lou and I moved to Qualicum Beach on December 5, 2008 to enjoy the milder climate, but have stayed because of the people. My wife and I love our new church family, St. Stephens United and are involved with community meals, the church youth and have volunteered for the second year to be part of the Mission to Mexico building experience this coming March.
